Professor Lord Ara Darzi

Professor the Lord Ara Darzi (Fleming Initiative) Lord Darzi is the Paul Hamlyn Chair of Surgery and Director of the Institute of Global Health Innovation at Imperial. He is also the Chair of the Fleming Initiative, an international project to drive interdisciplinary solutions to the threat of antimicrobial resistance under the patronage of HRH the Prince of Wales. In 2007 he was appointed Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Department of Health and has served on His Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council since June 2009.
